7 Paid Experiences We Love

Beara is full of free adventures but sometimes it’s nice to treat yourself
These 7 experiences are some of our absolute favourites. They do cost a bit, but we’ve gone back to them again and again and we never get tired of them.
Some are peaceful, some a little wild, and all are close enough for an easy outing from Mossie’s. We’ve done them in sunshine and drizzle, in spring bloom and autumn winds - and they’ve always delivered something special. (Except maybe the sea adventure… that one’s best saved for the warmer months!)
Here’s what we keep coming back to:
1. Molly Gallivan's Farm
200-year-old cottage and farm where you can experience traditional Irish country life, history, and heritage.
2. Muckross House
19th Victorian mansion set in Killarney National Park, with stunning gardens and views over the lake.
3. Mizen Head
Ireland's most southwesterly point. Dramatic footbridge in West Cork with sweeping Atlantic views.
4. Derreen Garden
A 19th Century Woodland Garden. Lush subtropical woodland by the sea, with winding paths and rare plants.
5. Gleninchaquin Park
Scenic valley with waterfalls, walking trails, and breathtaking mountain views.
6. Garnish Island
An exotic garden island in Glengarriff Bay, reached by boat and known for its vibrant plant life and resident seals.
7. Dursey Boat Trips
Explore Beara from the sea with trips around Dursey Island, Bull Rock, Castletown Harbour and Bere Island.
Enjoy & Safe travels!
