Introducing our Winter Edit

‍

By November, the busy summer season start to feel like a distant memory. Life around the peninsula return to its usual rhythm, the roads are mostly shared with locals, and the weather becomes a daily topic of conversation.

‍

Of course, winter on the west coast of Ireland isn't always picture-perfect. It rains, the wind can be relentless, and some days the mountains are nowhere to be seen. But that's also part of living here, and we've come to appreciate the season for exactly what it is.

‍

There's a different side to Beara that you don't necessarily get to experience during the summer months. It's quieter, wilder, and perhaps more representative of what life here is actually like.

‍

A little time to go inwards

We often think of winter as something to get through, waiting for the longer, brighter days to return. But there's a lot to be said for embracing this slower season.

Nature has a wonderful way of reminding us that we don't always need to be doing more.

It's a good time to reflect on the year that's passed, let go of things we no longer need, and make a little space for ourselves again.

‍

Whether that means getting outside for some fresh air, moving your body, eating a little better or simply spending a few days away from your usual routine, sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.

‍

It's with that in mind that we've put together our Winter Edit, a collection of some of our favourite experiences at Mossie's and around Beara, for those who could do with a few days away from their usual routine.

‍

The Winter Edit is an optional addition to your stay, created for couples who fancy a few days away from the everyday, with a little more time for the things that matter.

‍

Your Winter Edit includes:

‍

  • A grazing board for two - a lovely way to settle in on your arrival evening, with a selection of local cheeses, charcuterie and other little homemade treats.
  • A private sauna session for two - time to warm up, unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of our gardens.
  • Entry to Derreen Garden for two - wander through one of Beara's most beautiful woodland gardens at your own pace.
  • Homemade soup to take along - something warm and comforting to enjoy during your day exploring.
  • Our personal guide to Beara - if you feel for more: a few of our favourite places, walks and little discoveries to help you make the most of your time here.

€65 per person | Available November through March

The Winter Edit can be added to your room booking, with a minimum stay of two nights.

‍

And if you've been meaning to take some time away together, perhaps this is your sign.
